Publication Workflow Policy
SOCRATES Journal’s publication workflow guides authors through submission, review, revisions, payments, formatting, accessibility selection, and final publication.
Step 1: Manuscript Preparation
Authors prepare their manuscript according to the journal’s Manuscript Formatting Guidelines.
Step 2: Competing Interest Disclosure
The corresponding or submitting author completes the Competing Interest Disclosure Form.
Step 3: Cover Letter Submission
The corresponding or submitting author fills out the Cover Letter to the Editor form.
Step 4: Registration & Manuscript Submission

The corresponding or submitting author registers with the journal (or logs in if already registered).

Co-authors must register individually.

The manuscript is submitted by the corresponding or submitting author through the journal’s five-step workflow.
Step 5: Initial Review
The manuscript first undergoes an initial check for plagiarism, formatting, and compliance with journal policies. If selected for Fast Track Review, authors will be notified and required to pay the Fast Track Review Fee before the review process begins. For the normal review process, no payment is required.
Step 6: Peer Review (Double-Blind Process)

The manuscript is reviewed anonymously by subject-matter experts.

Reviewers assess the manuscript’s quality, methodology, and scholarly contribution.

Feedback is provided with a recommendation for acceptance, revisions, or rejection.
Step 7: Editorial Decision & Revisions

The Editorial Team makes a decision based on peer review feedback.

If revisions are required, authors must revise and resubmit their manuscript.

Revised manuscripts may undergo further review before final approval.
Step 8: Final Acceptance and Payment

Once all required revisions are successfully addressed, the Editorial Team makes a final acceptance decision.

Authors are notified and required to pay: Article Processing Charges (APCs)
Step 9: Copy-Editing & Formatting
Accepted manuscripts undergo final editing, formatting, and preparation for publication.
Step 10: Accessibility Selection

Authors choose between Open Access or Subscription Access.

If Open Access is selected, the Accessibility Fee must be paid.
Step 11: Publication

The article is officially published, and authors are notified.

Authors can download the PDF version from the journal’s website after login.
Step 12: Printed Copies (If Applicable)

Authors receive printed/ e-copies of the journal based on their chosen accessibility option.

Printed Copies and e-Copies are mailed to the authors provided address.
