Waiver and Discounts
SOCRATES Journal requires Article Processing Charges (APCs) to be paid following the acceptance of manuscripts. To foster accessibility and support researchers facing financial constraints, the journal has implemented a transparent Waiver and Discount Policy.
Group A: Waivers for Authors from Low-Income Countries
Authors affiliated with institutions in low-income countries are eligible for full/ partial waivers on article processing charges. This initiative aims to ensure wider participation and representation from underfunded regions in the fields of Public Policy, Public Administration, and Philosophy.
Group B: Waivers for Authors with Limited Resources
In cases where authors lack sufficient resources to cover the manuscript processing fees, partial waivers may be considered. To request a waiver, authors must provide adequate documentation—such as an official letter signed by the head of their institution—demonstrating the unavailability of funds. The journal’s editorial team will review the submitted evidence to determine the eligibility of the waiver request. The decision to approve or deny the waiver request is at the discretion of the journal and is based on the validity of the supporting documentation.
Requesting a Waiver or Discount
Authors must request waivers or discounts during the submission process, clearly stating their request in the cover letter to the editor. Requests submitted after manuscript acceptance or during the review process will not be considered.
This policy aims to ensure equitable access to publication opportunities, allowing for diverse contributions to the scholarly discourse in SOCRATES Journal’s areas of focus.
