Accessibility Options

SOCRATES is a hybrid open-access journal, which means it publishes both subscription and open access articles. At the time of publication the authors need to choose any of these two accessibility options:

1. Publishing article as open access
2. Publishing article as Subscription access

Please note: Publication in the Journal is free. There are no article processing charges, article review charges, or article publication charges. By default, all the articles in the journal are published as subscription access articles. Which means a subscription is required to online access the articles published in this journal. However, authors who wish to gain the benefits of open access publication can choose open access accessibility options for publishing their article as an open-access article. Open Access Policy applies to the articles that are published as open access.

Publishing your article as open access article

When you choose to publish your article as an open access article:

Access: Your published article would be freely available on SOCRATES e-Journal's website. Anyone on the internet can download and cite them immediately. Green Self Archiving policy apply. Authors can download and share their published article online on any platform. <Authors self-archiving policy>
Accessibility Fee (Open access fee): The open access fee is paid by the author, or on their behalf for example by their institution or funding body. Open access Fees USD 100 or equivalent (up to four authors per paper) depending upon the availability of the open-access slots in every issue.
Printed copies of the Issue to the Author(s):
Published Authors are provided with one free copy of their published issue:
- If the author is from India: One Printed copy to each author delivered to their mailing address.
- If the author is from overseas: One Printed copy to the corresponding author and one e-copy of the published issue to each author.

Publishing your article as Subscription access article

When you choose to publish your article as a subscription access article:

Access: Your published article would be available on SOCRATES e-Journal's website and on the databases attached to the Journal. Only the subscribers will have access to it. Only Subscribers of SOCRATES e-Journal would be able to download and cite them immediately. Green Self Archiving policy apply. Authors can download and print their published article but can not share it online on any platform. <Authors self-archiving policy>
Accessibility Fee: Nil
Printed copies of the Issue to the Author(s):
Published Authors are provided with one free copy of their published issue.
- If the author is from India: One Printed copy to every author delivered to their mailing address.
- If the author is from overseas: One e-copy of the published issue to every author.
